Serving children in schools

The Kiwanis Club of Gahanna is very involved in helping children. We sponsor two Key Clubs, one at Gahanna Lincoln High School and the other at Groveport Madison High School and one KKids club at Royal Manor Grade School. These programs help children develop leadership skills, learn about service and giving back to the community.

Examples of our club’s activities:

We have provided the prizes at the Ohio Power of the Pen writing competition for more than 20 years.

During Covid, the Gahanna grade schools needed to provide second graders with their own math counting tools that they could use at home for virtual school. We received a grant from the Ohio Kiwanis Foundation to purchase the supplies, counted and packaged them for all of the Gahanna second graders.

Providing three scholarships annually to students at Gahanna Lincoln High School.

“One Paper Clip at a time” project to create a statue at the Gahanna Lincoln High School filled with six million paperclips representing the number of people killed in the Holocaust.

Our Groveport Madison High School and Gahanna Lincoln High School Key Clubs are involved in many leadership and service activities including Bed Brigade to construct and decorate beds for children that need them.
